The mission of the contest is to give national and international projection to the participants by relying on a classified contest of international tourist interest, in which commerce, agriculture and gastronomy play a determining role at Cocentaina's All Saints Fair. In order to enhance the visibility of Alicante producers, a specific media plan will be developed for the contest in addition to contacting international importers from central European markets Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, publicizing the contest and the results. Any natural or legal person authorized to manufacture, package or distribute extra virgin olive oil may participate in the contest.

The jury will be made up of 5 tasters with an international profile, who will be in charge of classifying and awarding the oils submitted to the contest in order for the winners to achieve recognition and competitiveness thanks to the harmony of their scents.

For the contest, a specific tasting sheet has been developed depending on the geographical area from which the oils come, taking into account the predominant autochthonous varieties. Olfactory sensations, gustatory sensations and the visual aspect of the product will be assessed, in addition to the sensations of balance. For the evaluation of the oils, official COI material will be used: digital stove for tastings and tasting glasses.

The tasting sessions will take place before the fair. The prizes will be awarded with: 5 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze and 10 special mentions and the winners will receive a diploma per category: gold, silver and bronze. They will be delivered through a blended online event, which can be broadcast via streaming.
