The Mig Any Fira de Tots Sants de Cocentaina kicks off to continue promoting local commerce and hospitality

The Fira de Tots Sants de Cocentaina celebrates its Mig Any from today until next Sunday. The event was presented this morning by the department of Fira of the City Council of the county town at a press conference, in which all the activities and actions scheduled for this week were detailed, and with which it is intended to maintain the momentum for the hotel industry and local commerce that represented the format of two weekends of Fira held last edition, to try to avoid crowds and guarantee enough space.
For this, the XV Gastronomic Days are moved to the halfway point of the year of Fira to offer residents and visitors an extensive menu of dishes and local products throughout the week. In it, they will include a varied selection of rice dishes, grilled dishes and cuisine from the region. The tapas, so typical and traditional of the municipality, will also be present in the offer of some restaurants.

As a novelty to nightlife, the Cocentaina cafeterias will offer their services at the fairgrounds, where the first Fira Fest 2022 will be held next weekend.

I Fira Fest
This festival is the great novelty of Fira's Mig Any, and will feature a very varied selection of performers: soloists, soul groups, jazz, pop, remember sessions and even a day dedicated to children. The Fira Fest will take place the weekend of May 20 to 22 and, with this initiative, the organization of the Fira intends to fill the area of ??the fairgrounds and the adjacent streets next to the area with music, atmosphere, party and fun. The I Fira Fest is proposed as the perfect complement to the XV Gastronomic Conference. Music will play throughout the day, pausing at lunch and dinner times, so that participants can enjoy good music as well as the best flavor of the dishes of this land. The pubs and cafeterias of the municipality will be present on the premises, offering their bar service.
Likewise, the City Council has indicated that the Sol a Sol festival will continue to be held on its usual calendar, during the days of Fira de Tots Sants.

On the other hand, it also includes in the activities of the Mig Any, the II Congress of the Fira de Tots Sants Commercial Network, aimed at all the companies participating in the event, with the aim of providing the tools that allow improving the experience of sellers and visitors. This year's event will have two days dedicated exclusively to the training of the components of the commercial network and a final day open to the public, with a theme focused on gastronomy and traditional Fira food products.
As highlighted by the councilor of Fira, Eugenia Miguel, “the congress comes at the request of the exhibitors and professionals themselves as a result of the 2020 Fira, which had to be adapted due to the pandemic. We realized that it was important to create a space, outside of the Fira itself, where we could get to know each other better, share knowledge and common interests and where we could work together to improve the experience of the event”.
The first of the days starts today, Tuesday, May 17, with a program of conferences on different topics such as communication and marketing tools for fairs, the importance of accessibility in the fair industry and a final talk on improvements and keys in customer service. The congress, which will continue with two more days of conferences on May 18 and 19, this year has gone a step further and professionalizes its coordination with the figure of the director of the congress, Mayte Rubio, an expert in leadership and team management.
For her part, the mayor of Cocentaina, Mireia Estepa, pointed out that “today we start the activities planned to celebrate the second Mig Any of Fira. The first was held when we were declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest and now, after these two years of having to adapt formats and duration, we really want to celebrate the return of a normal Fira, in its natural format. This Mig Any is a preview, a foretaste of the Fira that we will have and for which an amalgamation of activities has been organized for people to come and enjoy during this week of training, gastronomy, music and, incidentally, get to know our municipality since during over the weekend all the monuments of Cocentaina will be open to the public with guided tours”.
